Well folks, although I have not received official word from the local election's office, it looks as though the press has. The Cherokee Tribune published an article Thursday (8/10/2006) stating that it looks like almost 800 of my signatures were thrown out - enough to keep me from qualifying to run as an Independent in November.

I will let you know when I hear anything official from the Secretary of State's office.

I greatly appreciate all of you who helped out in this effort. Having almost 40% of my signatures thrown out certainly points out the difficulty of anyone trying to participate in the electoral process who isn't wearing the label of Democrat or Republican.

And we wonder why America is in such a state of gridlock!
